WCS Announces Middle
School Football Program

(April 2009) Beginning the 2009-2010 school year, seventh and eighth grade students at Westbury Christian School will be able to participate in the newly established middle school football program.

“The goal is to develop and shape the lives of young boys through consistently doing the right things, committing to serve others, making choices that please God, establishing good creditability with God’s approval, and pleasing God with the lights on and off them,” explained Charlie Ward, head varsity football coach and middle school football program developer.

Coach Ward said the middle school program will be a great opportunity for middle school boys to learn the fundamentals of football before going on to the high school football program.  WCS Athletic Director Russell Carr stated, “Coach Ward is a great leader and teacher, and it’s exciting that middle school students will have an opportunity to learn from him.”

WCS Executive Administrator Greg Glenn said, “I am excited for the young people who will be fortunate enough to be a part of our middle school football program.  Coach Ward is putting together and adding another piece to the football ministry that is not only going to be an enhancement to the football program but we also anticipate it adding more students to our student body.”
