Westbury Christian School does grant a limited amount of financial assistance in the form of tuition discounts, in varying amounts, to qualified students with leadership skills. The Development Department, in part, is designed to assist the growth and development of Westbury Christian School through the recruitment and/or retention of students who possess campus leadership qualities and/or who could not otherwise afford a Christian education.
Financial assistance may be extended to those secondary students who can contribute to the advancement of the school through Campus Leadership. (Campus Leadership refers to those students who possess multiple or special leadership abilities.) Additionally, benevolent assistance is available on a limited basis to select families that demonstrate need.
An applicant must meet general admission requirements before consideration for financial assistance will be given. Any exception must have the approval of the Executive Administrator and/or Board President. Students who are from Church of Christ families are given priority for financial assistance. However, church membership is not a necessary requirement.
Families wishing to apply for assistance should first complete all enrollment requirements and receive an acceptance letter from WCS. The family can then request a Financial Aid Packet from the Admissions Office. WCS uses an objective third party in assessing financial need. Your cost is approximately $35 and the on-line application is user-friendly. It is possible that additional information or documentation, clarification, and/or a meeting with applicants may be required. If submitted information is found to be fraudulent, the applicant is automatically disqualified for consideration.
The primary responsibility for financing a student’s education rests with the family. Westbury Christian School believes a family should invest in their child’s education before elective expenses; for example, secondary home ownership, club memberships, expensive car leases/purchases, etc.
Families applying for financial assistance for the 2011-2012 school year must complete the online application by April 15, 2011. The tax return and W-2’s must be postmarked by April 30, 2011.
Applicants will be notified by the Admissions Office when a decision has been made (during the month of May if not sooner) |
