High School Chapel
High School students participate in chapel every Tuesday and Thursday.
Chapel typically revolves around a devotional time that may include scripture reading, singing, prayer, and an inspirational talk. Guest speakers often visit to present biblically based ethical and moral viewpoints on issues facing today’s youth.
High school students meet in small groups several times a month. A teacher or staff member will be assigned to a group to mentor, disciple, and lead throughout the year. Small group time is valuable to our community as it allows for students to deepen their relationships with each other and the Lord. Teachers will lead students through prayer time, scripture reading and application.
All School Chapel
Once every term, our school gathers for a time of worship and celebration. Preschool through 12th grade meet in the chapel for songs of praise, a chapel speaker and recognitions. Lower school students will have an active part In participating and leading All School Chapel.
Mission Trips
WCS offers a Mission Trip over spring break. Over the past decade, New Iberia has been devastated by several powerful storms that have swept the area. Our Wildcats partnered with the Lil’ Brooklyn Neighborhood Initiative and the New Iberia Church of Christ to help with beautification projects in the neighborhood. The Lil’ Brooklyn Neighborhood Initiative is a nonprofit organization that began in the community. Their mission is to transform the neighborhood with projects such as painting houses and landscaping. More information will be shared in the winter.
Community Service
Westbury Christian School believes that all high school students should have educational experiences outside the classroom that will complement their academic program. Students who graduate from WCS must complete a minimum number of community service hours prior to graduation. Each student must complete a minimum of 20 hours of community service for every year that they attend high school at WCS. A total of 80 community service hours is required for graduation.
